My ZEN52 Double Relay Shows Offline in SmartThings

If inclusion was initially successful, but your ZEN52 Double Relay shows offline in SmartThings, it may indicate a range or connectivity issue.

Network Repair can be used to refresh your mesh network's connections using the SmartThings app. This helps the SmartThings hub find a more efficient route to the relay.

See the steps for Network Repair below:

  1. Open your SmartThings app and locate your SmartThings hub under Devices. Tap the hub to see the device details.
  2. Tap the three dots in the upper right hand corner and tap Settings

  3. Tap Z-Wave Utilities
  4. Tap Repair Z-Wave Network
  5. Tap Start Repair

Wait until you see the "Z-Wave Network Repair finished" message (this can take up to 15 minutes) before sending any Z-Wave commands to your ZEN52 Double Relay. Once the repair has been completed, try including the sensor back into your network.

If Network Repair doesn't help, try bringing the ZEN52 and the hub closer together. Exclude and re-include it from within direct range of the hub. If the relay stays connected after successful inclusion, it's possible the previous location is out of SmartThings' range, or there may be too many interferences in that location.

We'd also recommend excluding and re-including the relay from the installation location directly. Like Network Repair, it's possible that SmartThings hasn't found the most efficient communication route to the sensor. This can occasionally happen when you include a device near the hub and then move it away to be installed.
