Before moving on to Z-Wave set up, check that your switch is working at 100% when turning the switch on/off using the paddle.

Now that's settled, we can add your switch to SmartThings. The switch will work out of the box; you'll just need to add the lua Edge driver to enable advanced features.

If you'd like to add the switch to the SmartThings app, follow the steps below:

1. Tap the plus icon in the home screen
2. Tap Device
3. Tap "Scan nearby" (in the corner of the screen)
4. While the app says "Scanning...", tap the UPPER paddle 3 times as quickly as possible (LED indicator will start flashing)
5. The app will indicate when the device connects
6. Tap Edit to rename the device, and tap Done to save the name
7. Tap Done to complete the setup

Once the switch is included, perform network repair to optimize connectivity. This will help SmartThings find the best communication route to the switch. Here's how to repair the network. 

If you're having issues including your switch to SmartThings, we'd recommend excluding it using the instructions here  and then re-including again.
