How to Add Your ZEN25 Double Plug to Hubitat

The ZEN25 Double Plug is officially integrated to work with your Hubitat hub right from the box.

While the device is fully integrated, we're waiting for a few issues seen with S2 security and multi-channel devices to still be resolved on the latest C-7 hub platform update. If you're using the Hubitat C-7 hub, for now you'll want to select Include without security and add the ZEN25 without security to successfully add the device. If you're using an older Hubitat hub, you can simply follow the instructions below as S2 security is only supported on the C-7 hub.

You can pair it to your Hubitat network via the easy auto or manual inclusion processes:

Auto-inclusion:

  1. Open Hubitat in your Internet browser

  2. Go to Devices

  3. Click on Discover Devices in the top right corner

  4. Click on Z-Wave

  5. Click on Start Z-Wave Inclusion

  6. While the app says is in inclusion mode, plug the Double Plug into a grounded 120VAC receptacle you’re planning to use it at (it doesn’t need to be close to the hub).

  7. The LED indicators should start flashing

  8. Four new on/off devices will appear on your device list. See note below.

  9. Rename and confirm the found device

Manual inclusion:

  1. Plug the Double Plug into a grounded 120VAC receptacle you’re planning to use it at (it doesn’t need to be close to the hub).

  2. Open Hubitat in your Internet browser

  3. Go to Devices

  4. Click on Discover Devices in the top right corner

  5. Click on Z-Wave

  6. Click on Start Z-Wave Inclusion

  7. While the app says is in inclusion mode, click the Z-Wave 3 times quickly - all of the LED indicators should start flashing.

  8. Four new on/off devices will appear on your device list. See note below.

  9. Rename and confirm the found device

NOTE: Whether you include the device automatically or manually, you’ll see 3 new on/off devices appear:

  • 2 channels for on/off control

  • 1 master node to control both outlets at the same time and to access and adjust advanced settings in (if your hub supports parameter input). You'll be able to check USB port status under the master node (the USB port reporting charging / charged status where "on" means charging and "off" means charged)

If your ZEN25 is having trouble joining your hub’s network, try the exclusion process explained here. It will act as soft reset to help the ZEN25 configure and connect to Hubitat. You should also have immediate access to the advanced settings in the plug’s device view. If the option isn’t there, see if your Hubitat hub is on the latest platform version and then try this Z-Wave parameter tool.

Send us a message if you aren’t able to connect your ZEN25 to Hubitat, we can help!
