If your ZSE18 is showing up as “offline” in Hubitat, it could indicate a range or configuration problem. You should be able to resolve the issue Z-Wave Network Repair.

Check to see if your Hubitat hub is up-to-date on its platform version. Once you’ve checked, you can run the Z-Wave Repair to refresh your Z-Wave mesh network connections. Use the steps below:

  1. Open Hubitat in your Internet browser

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Click on Z-Wave Details

  4. Click on Repair Z-Wave

A successful repair will finish with a "Z-Wave Network Repair finished" confirmation. The ZSE18 motion sensor can then be put into inclusion mode to join your Z-Wave network.

You can also try these other troubleshooting tips with your ZSE18 sensor:

  • You can disconnect the sensor from your hub and re-connect it. It acts as a soft reset to help your sensor configure properly, or find a better route to communicate with Hubitat.
  • Another option is to add a non-battery powered Z-Wave device, or a Z-Wave signal repeater, between the hub and sensor, if you have on available. This will help improve communication between the two devices. You will need to run another Z-Wave Repair for the additional device to be recognized and used in the communication path with the ZSE18.
  • You can also try moving the sensor to be closer to the hub. If the device is too far away, or in an area surrounded by a lot of metal or glass elements, it could be having trouble communicating with the hub. Once moved to a new location, unpair and re-include the device for the change to be recognized.

You can contact us if none of these troubleshoots have resolved the issue with your ZSE18, we’ll be happy to help!
