CAUTION

This is an electrical device. Please use caution when installing and operating the Smart Plug. Remote control of appliances may result in unintentional or automated activation of power. Do NOT use this Z-Wave ™ device to control electric heaters or other appliances which produce the risk of fire, burns, or electrical shock when unattended.

INSTALLATION

Plug the Smart Plug into any standard grounded 110V receptacle. Do NOT connect any devices to the plug at this point. Click the Z-Wave™ button to see if the LED indicator comes on and off. If the LED indicator doesn’t light up at all, please try a different receptacle. If it’s still off, please get in touch with our support team: ask@getzooz. com.

BEFORE YOU PLUG ANYTHING IN: Do NOT connect resistive loads over 15 A. Do NOT connect appliances or motors o ver 8 A! Connecting heavy duty equipment to this Smart Plug will DAMAGE the device and may cause the connected appliance to malfunction. Do NOT plug washers, dr yers, refrigerators, or motors o ver 1/3 hp to this Smart Plug.

WARNING

  • This product should be installed indoors upon completion of any building renovations.

  • Prior to installation, the device should be stored in a dry, dust-and-mold-proof place.

  • Do not install the Smart Plug in a place with direct sun exposure, high temperature, or humidity.

  • Keep away from chemicals, water, and dust.

  • Ensure the device is never close to any heat source or open flame to prevent fire.

  • Ensure the device is connected to an electric power source that does not exceed the maximum load power.

  • No part of the device may be replaced or repaired by the user.

Z-WAVE CONTROL

There are 2 methods to add the relay to your hub:

SmartStart:

  1. DO NOT PLUG IN OR POWER ON THE DEVICE YET.

  2. Use the hub UI / app to scan the SmartStart code on the device. The SmartStart QR code / security PIN is located on the side of the plug.

  3. Once completed, plug in the device power the device for SmartStart inclusion, it will be added automatically.

  4. Do NOT press the Z-Wave® button. (Except for SmartThings, you may need to click the Z-Wave® button 3 times). See below for QR codes to hub-specific instructions.

Manual Inclusion:

  1. Initiate inclusion (pairing) in the app or hub UI.

  2. Make sure the device is powered and finalize the inclusion at the relay: click the Z-Wave® button 3 times quickly. 

  3. The LED indicator will blink green rapidly to signal communication and turn green for 2 seconds if inclusion is successful or turn red for 2 seconds if the pairing attempt fails. If the LED is not blinking rapidly, you did not click the button fast enough.

TROUBLESHOOTING

The plug won’t add to your system ? Try this:

  1. Initiate EXCLUSION in your hub and click the Z-Wave ™ button 3 times as quickly as possible. Then try adding it after it suc essfully excludes (this works as a reset and can be tried even if the plug was never connected to your hub in the past).

  2. Click the Z-Wave ™ button quicker when adding it.

  3. FACTORY RESET the plug.

  4. Bring the plug closer to your hub, it may be out of range.

  5. Double-check if the device is powered.

  6. Get troubleshooting tips specific to your hub at www.support.getzooz. com

EXCLUSION (REMOVE DEVICE)

  1. Bring the plug within direct range of your Z-Wave™ hub.

  2. Put the Z-Wave ™ hub into exclusion mode.

  3. Click the Z-Wave ™ button 3 times as quickly as possible.

  4. Your hub will confirm exclusion and the plug will disappear from your controller's device list.

FACTORY RESET

When your network ’s primary controller is missing or otherwise inoperable, you may need to reset the device to factory settings manually. In order to complete the process, make sure the plug is powered, then click the Z-Wave ™ button twice and hold it the third time for 10 seconds. The LED indicator will flash red 3 times to confirm a successful reset. NOTE: All previously recorded activity and custom settings will be erased from the device ’s memory.

ASSOCIATION

The Smart Plug supports Group 1 for Lifeline communication and Group 2 with up to 5 devices for basic on/off control. This device will send a Basic Set command to Group 2 when ever it changes its on/off status. Please note that not all Z-Wave ™ systems give users access to direct association settings so if you’re note sure where to find it, please get in touch with our support and we’ll be happy to help.
