How to Add Your ZEN25 Double Plug to SmartThings

Follow the instructions below to set-up your ZEN25 Double Plug in no time!

You'll need to install the lua Edge driver for the ZEN25 to be properly recognized. If you haven't added an Edge driver, don't worry! The driver is a piece of code that enables the Double Plug's advanced settings and makes sure the device is configured properly. The process takes less than 5 minutes. Here's how to do it.

Once the Edge driver is installedl, you can include the Double Plug to your network automatically or manually.

Here's how to include the Double Plug:

Auto-inclusion

  1. Tap the plus icon in the home screen
  2. Tap Device
  3. Tap "Scan nearby" (in the corner of the screen)
  4. While the app says "Scanning...", plug the Double Plug into a grounded 120VAC receptacle you’re planning to use it at (it doesn’t need to be close to the hub).
  5. The LED indicators should start flashing
  6. Four new on/off devices will appear on your device list. See note below.
  7. The app will indicate when the device connects
  8. Tap Edit to rename the device, and tap Done to save the name
  9. Tap Done to complete the setup

Manual Inclusion

  1. Tap the plus icon in the home screen
  2. Tap Device
  3. Tap "Scan nearby" (in the corner of the screen)
  4. While the app says "Scanning...", press the Z-Wave button 3 times very quickly
  5. The app will indicate when the device connects
  6. Tap Edit to rename the device, and tap Done to save the name
  7. Tap Done to complete the setup

NOTE: Whether you include the device automatically or manually, you’ll see 3 new on/off devices appear:

  • 2 channels for on/off control
  • 1 master node to control both outlets at the same time and to access and adjust advanced settings in (if your hub supports parameter input). You'll be able to check USB port status under the master node (the USB port reporting charging / charged status where "on" means charging and "off" means charged)

If you're having issues including your Double Plug to SmartThings, we'd recommend excluding the device using the instructions here
