Can't Add My ZEN51 Dry Contact Relay to Hubitat

The ZEN51 Dry Contact Relay is fully supported by Hubitat so it will work with the hub out of the box!

Ensure the platform is on version 2.2.9 or higher.

To help with the ZEN51 Relay configuration, try the exclusion process first. This can be done even if it was never connected to the hub, as it acts as a soft reset.

 

If the relay is having problems connecting to Hubitat:

  1. Open Hubitat in your Internet browser

  2. Go to Devices

  3. Click on Discover Devices in the top right corner

  4. Click on Z-Wave

  5. Click on Start Z-Wave Exclusion

  6. While the device is searching for a device, click the Z-Wave button on the relay 3 times as quickly as possible. Alternatively, if the relay is already installed, you can simply toggle the external switch connected to ZEN51 very quickly from off to on, so: "up-down, up-down, up-down."

  7. The app will indicate when the device is successfully excluded.

 

Once you have successfully excluded your ZEN51, follow the steps below steps to reinclude your ZEN51 to Hubitat:

 

  1. Power the sensor up.

  2. Open Hubitat in your Internet browser

  3. Go to Devices

  4. Click on Discover Devices in the top right corner

  5. Click on Z-Wave

  6. Click on Start Z-Wave Inclusion

  7. While the app says is in inclusion mode, click the Z-Wave button on the relay 3 times as quickly as possible (the LED indicator will start flashing). Alternatively, if the relay is already installed, you can simply toggle the external switch connected to ZEN51 very quickly from off to on, so: "up-down, up-down, up-down."

  8. Rename and confirm the found device
