The ZEN78 High Power Relay is designed for safely automating and controlling heavy-duty 240VAC appliances. With a 40A rating and built-in overcurrent protection (triggering at 40.5A), it provides reliable performance while helping protect connected equipment.

Key Features

  • High Power Capacity: Handles loads up to 40 amps at 240VAC.

  • Double-Pole Switching: Two independent 40A relays disconnect both hot legs (L1 and L2) simultaneously, ensuring safe shutoff.

  • Manual & Remote Control:

    • Dry contact switch terminal for connecting a mechanical wall switch.

    • Onboard action button for local on/off control, Z-Wave inclusion/exclusion, and factory reset.

  • Integrated Safety Features:

    • Overcurrent protection at 40.5A.

    • Temperature sensor for monitoring and added protection.

  • Z-Wave Compatibility: Control and monitor the relay from your compatible Z-Wave hub or smart home system.

  • Indoor Use Only: The ZEN78 is not IP66 rated and must be installed indoors or in a protected enclosure.

When to Use the ZEN78 High Power Relay

The ZEN78 is ideal for high-power 240VAC applications up to 40A, where both hot legs need to be safely disconnected. Common use cases include:

  • Pool Pumps

  • Electric Water Heaters or Boilers

  • Air Compressors

  • Air Conditioners / Mini Splits

  • High-Power Outlets

  • Shop Vacuums

  • Commercial Lighting

  • Heated Driveways

  • EV Charging Stations

  • High Power Appliances (Ovens, etc.)

  • Electric Heaters

Important Notes

  • The ZEN78 must be installed indoors or inside weatherproof housing within the rated temperatures if used outdoors.
