For Z-Wave control of the ZEN78 High Power Relay you will need to include it to your network; a process also known as adding or pairing.
Important Note: The device has an internal relay, which can turn on and off with a click of the Z-Wave button. This means that when you are attempting to include or exclude the device, the clicks need to happen as fast as possible; if the clicks are not completed fast enough, the relay will engage instead and the device will not enter inclusion or exclusion mode. You will know you have clicked fast enough when the LED indicator begins flashing red rapidly.
Auto-Inclusion
-
Put your Z-Wave hub into inclusion/pairing mode (see your hub's manual for instructions since each brand is different). If you’re using an S2 hub, it may ask you to enter the DSK key printed on the back cover sticker to complete secure inclusion
-
Power on the ZEN78 Relay.
-
The LED indicator will will start flashing red rapidly to signal communication and turn solid red for 2 seconds if inclusion is successful. The LED will blink and stay solid red. It will go back to pulsing red after 30 seconds of flashing if the pairing attempt fails.
Manual Inclusion
-
Put the Z-Wave hub into inclusion/pairing mode (see your hub's manual for instructions since each brand is different)
-
Click the Z-Wave button 3 times quickly (the LED indicator will start flashing red rapidly). If it does not start flashing red rapidly, you did not click the Z-Wave button quickly enough; please try again, clicking as quickly as possible.
-
The new device should appear on your hub's device list
If you've tried auto and manual inclusion but find the ZEN78 Relay is not including, please try to exclude the device, factory reset the unit, then try including again.
Please let us know if you have any questions about the process.
