My ZEN76 S2 Switch 700 is Offline in Home Assistant

Having trouble sending Z-Wave commands to your ZEN76 Switch? Here's what you can do.

Your switch has a range of up to 500 feet (line of sight). However, interferences like large furniture, thick walls, and metal elements can still shorten its range. Ultimately range is determined by the specific structure of your home and the strength of your mesh network. If you're seeing connectivity issues, we first recommend healing your Home Assistant network. This function refreshes the connections between your hub and devices so that the hub can find the most efficient route to each device.

  1. Click on the Z-Wave Control Panel in Home Assistant

  2. Under Z-Wave Network Management, click Heal Network

Still experiencing connectivity issues with the ZEN76? Try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Remove the ZEN76 and re-pair it to Home Assistant to help the hub build a better communication route.

  2. Add another non-battery powered Z-Wave device between the hub and switch to help strengthen the mesh network. Make sure to run another Heal Network so that the hub recognizes the new device.

  3. Try bringing the hub closer when you pair the switch. If you're able to remove and re-add without any issues, then the switch could be out of range of the hub in its normal spot.

  4. If your switch is installed in a metal switch box, then it can prevent signals from being sent or received. Metal is really effective at disrupting Z-Wave signals. If possible, try moving the hub closer or adding a Z-Wave signal repeater between the switch and the hub.
