How to Add Your ZSE11 Q Sensor to Vera

Add the ZSE11 Q Sensor to you Vera hub in no time!

No additional configuration is needed, but you may need to wake it up the sensor a few times by clicking the Z-Wave button 3 times quickly after it's added so it's fully configured.

Here's how to include the device:

  1. Power the sensor by USB or battery and bring the device as close to Vera as possible

Note: The sensor can only be powered by a single power source. If it's powered by both USB and battery, it may damage it and it could not work on battery reliably afterwards.

  1. Put Vera into inclusion mode by selecting the Devices tab. Then click on the gray "+ Add Device" button
  2. Choose Generic Z-Wave Device from the device list
  3. Press and release the Z-Wave button 3 times quickly
  4. A new sensor will be recognized by Vera and appear on your device list

If your sensor included without a problem, but not all the values are being updated, try waking the sensor up manually by pressing the Z-Wave button 3 times quickly a few times. If that doesn't help, it's possible it wasn't included successfully on the first try and you need to give exclusion a go. The process acts as a reset and usually helps Z-Wave devices include properly.

Here is a screenshot of how the sensor should display in your Vera app once successfully added and fully configured:

A total of 5 devices should be created: A main generic device to set advanced settings in and 4 child devices for each sensor.

If your ZSE11 disappears from the dashboard, you may need to reload engine in your Vera app.

*Updated Disclaimer: We've seen several issues with Vera hubs properly recognizing and integrating 700 & 800 series Z-Wave devices. It seems that the mios and Vera systems are no longer updated or supported for new features and Z-Wave libraries as they're replaced with the new Ezlo platform instead.

Unfortunately, we've had to remove Vera hubs from our compatibility lists for this reason. We're not able to modify devices to accommodate older discontinued systems like these as we need to follow the current DSK for our devices to pass Z-Wave certifications and work well with active platforms that are up to date. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions about your ZSE11 sensor! Our team will be happy to help.
