If you're having trouble adding your ZSE50 Siren & Chime to HomeSeer, you may need to try exclusion first. This process can be done with any Z-Wave device, on any Z-Wave hub, at any time, regardless of the device's inclusion status.
The exclusion process simply acts as a soft reset and can be done even if you haven't paired the ZSE50 to HomeSeer or another Z-Wave network before.
Zooz products are officially integrated with the Z-Wave Plus and the Z-Wave JS Front-End of HomeSeer. If you're experiencing issues with the unit not properly displaying, we would recommend first updating to the Z-Wave Plus or the Z-Wave JS Front-End, then excluding and re-including your device to your network in order for it to be recognized correctly.
Here are the steps for excluding the ZSE50 Siren & Chime in HomeSeer:
-
In the HomeSeer UI, click the Plugins; from the drop-down menu, select Z-Wave.
- Select Remove Device.
- You will be taken to a new page; click Continue to start the exclusion process on the hub.
- Tap the “-” button 3 times quickly. The LED indicator will start blinking green, and the following message will play once: "Removing device."
- If exclusion is successful the LED indicator on the siren will turn green for 2 seconds, and play the following message: "Device removed."
- HomeSeer should confirm the device was removed. Finalize by clicking Finish.
If exclusion fails, the LED indicator will turn red for 2 seconds and the following message will play once: "Removing device failed." If exclusion fails or you are unable to include the unit after a successful exclusion, please try a factory reset on the unit before attempting inclusion again.
Once the exclusion process is finalized, try including the device to HomeSeer.
Here are some additional troubleshoots if the above did not help:
- Give the exclusion process another try! It's possible the command from the first run wasn't registered correctly.
- Run the factory reset process on the device.
- When excluding more than once, and not receiving confirmation it was removed, ensure you are clicking the “-” button as quickly as possible!
- If you have a Z-Wave signal repeater available (switch, relay, smart plug, dedicated repeater - any Z-Wave device that doesn't rely on battery power), try placing it between the device and hub. Make sure to heal the network so that the hub recognizes the new device. This can help in case there is an interference or range issue preventing stable communication between the two nodes.
- Try bringing the ZSE50 within direct range of the hub.
