Smart Plug powered up and working manually? Let's add it to Hubitat!
After pairing your ZEN04 Smart Plug with Hubitat, you'll have remote control of your connected devices, the ability to create automations, and access the advanced features. The custom driver for the ZEN04 will be available soon to give you access to the settings!
You can add it to Hubitat following the step-by-step instructions here:
Smart Start Inclusion
On the Hubitat app:
- Open the Tools tab (wrench icon on the bottom)
- Scroll to the bottom, select Z-Wave
- This will take you to a screen where you can select either Smart Start or regular inclusion
- Select Smart Start
- This will take you to the smart start inclusion list. Devices will be displayed there that are in the process of inclusion through Smart Start.
- Select the QR symbol in the top right to open the camera for the DSK scan (Scan the QR code printed on the side of the plug.)
- Power the device (important to do this AFTER QR scan)
- The device integration will begin. The window will appear asking you to name the device; click Save after naming
- Finishing inclusion may take a few minutes
If you have any issues with Smart Start Inclusion on Hubitat, please review this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sf-Fldjb0to. The steps should be the same whether you have a C-7 or C-8.

It's better to pair the Smart Plug from its target location to ensure the hub forms the most efficient communication route to the device. If you add it to the network near the hub and then move it to its desired spot, please make sure to perform a Network Repair to optimize connectivity. This will help your Hubitat hub find the strongest communication route to the device.
If your Smart Plug is having trouble adding to your Hubitat hub, you can try to exclude it first. The process can be done even if it hasn't been paired before and will help the ZEN04 configure properly so that it can connect to the network.
