The ZEN32 Scene Controller is now integrated with Alarm.com, and can be used to program scene activation. While you are not able to directly trigger another device with the ZEN32 at this time or access the advanced settings, you can trigger any scene with the 4 small scene control buttons. Directly control the connected load with the main button, and use the multi-tap functionality for additional scene activation.
Please note: In Rules Builder you can only control/trigger another scene; you are not able to control another device directly. Please ensure you have created the scene you want to trigger with the ZEN32 before programming the scene buttons.
If you do not see the Remote option or the Scene option when programming, you will need to reach out to your individual security panel provider so they can push the update and allow the integration. Alarm.com integrated the device in November of 2024, but the final update might not be pushed by your individual Alarm.com dealer.
However, please note that Alarm.com is simply the cloud platform and mobile app used to access and manage your system remotely. It provides the automation, notifications, and account management, but it is not the physical Z Wave controller in your home. The actual controller is the hardware installed on site, which may be an Alarm.com automation hub, a security panel from Qolsys, a security panel from 2GIG, or another compatible gateway. This hardware determines which Z Wave devices can be added, how they appear in the interface, and which features are supported. Compatibility depends fully on the specific hub or panel firmware you have installed in your home. *The specific automation hubs listed below have integrated and fully support the ZEN32 Scene Controller (still no access to the advanced settings).
You can read more about Alarm.com compatibility specifically here.
How to Program the ZEN32 Scene Controller on Alarm.com
From the Home page, choose More > click Manage Devices > in the Remotes section, click the 3 dots for the ZEN32 Scene Controller and then click Device Settings:

You are now on the ZEN32 settings page > scroll to the Automation section > click Configure under the desired button > you are now in the Rules Builder section > click Select under Then:

Click Scene. NOTE: In Rules Builder you can only control another scene; you are not able to control another device directly, so please ensure you have created the scene you want to trigger with the ZEN32 first > choose the desired scene you want to trigger with the button and click Done if you only wish to use the single click. If you wish to use the multi-tap, continue to the last step > OPTIONAL: Using the pen icon, you can edit to select the multi-tap options. If you prefer to use only the single-click, do not click edit.

Choose your preferred button action and click Done > click Save and choose a name for your new rule > hit OK and this will exit the wizard:
