Get the right accessories to make sure your ZEN26 switches look their best!

(This is a discontinued product, replacement model: ZEN76)

Our ZEN26 switch will match Leviton white wall plates best if you're looking to buy new plates or want to make sure the switch will match your existing ones. Look for them in your local hardware store.

For installations with more than 1 switch (3-or more-ways), Leviton white on / off switches are a great addition to have your ZEN26 in the same shade as your mechanical on / off switches. You don't need to worry about buying additional add-on switches for 3-or more-way locations because Zooz has to be wired to mechanical on/off 3-way switches at the other end of the installation.

Note: This dimmer is currently only available in white, and the paddles are not interchangeable. If you're looking for other colors, check out the 700 series version - the ZEN76 Switch which comes in light almond, brown, and black paddle options.

The key to any successful installation is prep! Before doing anything, read the instructions included with your ZEN26 and gather the tools you'll need. A neutral jumper needed in most installs is included in the box with your ZEN26 switch, but if additional wire or wire nuts are needed to complete the installation, then the recommended wire gauge for your installation is 14 AWG as used in most standard 120 V installations. Other basic electrical tools you may need on hand for the installation include a voltage meter and electrical pliers.

Important: Before installing the switch, make sure the ZEN26 is suitable for the location. The maximum loads for the ZEN26 are 8 A, 150 W for LED or CFL lights, 600 W for incandescent, or 1200 W resistive. The ZEN26 switch should not be connected to a mixed load of incandescent and LED bulbs and is not rated to control a receptacle. Here are a few other things to check before installing your switch:

  • Use the appropriate wiring diagram! We have wiring diagrams for various installations. Wiring diagrams for single pole installations can be found under the ZEN26's product page, and diagrams for 3-or more-way installation are located right here in our Knowledge Base.

  • Check your wires! Your ZEN26 can have different wiring than your existing switch or another Zooz model. For example, installation of a ZEN26 uses a different diagram than a ZEN21. Refer to our helpful guide to properly identify your wiring before installing.

  • Connect the neutral. Your ZEN26, like all Zooz switches, needs neutral to be installed. If you're not sure whether you have neutral in the box, reach out to us!

  • Ask a professional. For safety reasons, we don't recommend installing the switch yourself if you're not comfortable with an electrical installation. If you're able to, hire a licensed professional to help with the installation.

  • Contact us for help. What's on our diagrams might be different than what's in your switch box. In that case, we'll be happy to help create custom wiring instructions for you. Just submit a ticket with your order number with the unit (so we can verify the mode; you can send us an Amazon order number too!) and images of the wiring in each switch box (so we can send the most accurate directions).

Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions about your ZEN26 switch!
