Having trouble adding your ZEN55 DC Signal Sensor to Home Assistant? Exclusion is the easiest way to resolve any configuration or connectivity issues, and the ZEN55 can be excluded from Home Assistant even if it has never been successfully included.
To exclude the ZEN55:
- In Home Assistant: open Settings > Devices and Services > Z-Wave JS > Configure
- Click on Remove Device
- Click on Start Exclusion
- Click the Z-Wave button 3 times as quickly as possible (the LED indicator will start flashing)
- Home Assistant will confirm that the device was removed, and you should now be able to add it to your system
Once Home Assistant confirms a successful exclusion, please try including the device once more:
- In Home Assistant: click on Add a Z-Wave Device
- When Home Assistant displays the following message: "Your Z-Wave controller is now in inclusion mode. Follow the directions that came with your device to trigger pairing on the device," click the Z-Wave button 3 times as quickly as possible (the LED indicator will start flashing)
- If asked to enter the SmartStart security PIN, enter the PIN located on the back of the device, next to the Z-Wave Plus logo
- The LED indicator will blink green to signal communication, and turn green for 2 seconds if inclusion is successful
- Home Assistant will confirm that the device was added, and it will be immediately visible in your device list
